I would recommend Cocoon Tiny Homes and Karen and Tom to anyone who asks. I began the search for my first home over two years ago and had done a lot of research into different building companies, both traditional and tiny. After doing a lot of looking online and visiting different display homes and factories, I decided on Cocoon Tiny Homes. The quality of their work was above and beyond that of any other company we looked at, and their pricing was transparent and upfront, and they were able to build a fully consented home. Despite all the setbacks and delays that were in no way their fault, Karen and Tom have been amazing every step of the way, and even surprised me with extras around the house, and came up to Auckland to fix an issue on the cladding that was caused by another company.
The quality of my home is beyond what I had ever expected, and for my first home, it feels like luxury. To put it simply, if anyone asks, I would and have told them to go and have a look at Cocoon Tiny Homes.

Coming into Cocoon to visit on an open day, not knowing anything about tiny home living. Was the start of my journey. I came away feeling 'I could do this!' and have not looked back since.
The on-site visits, I was always greeted by name, which was so welcoming.
Presenting my very out of scale sketches of the home that would work for me. The very talented staff took this somewhat sketchy sketches and together we worked through my ideas, colours , materials and budget.
Along the way there were tweaks that had to be made, there was plenty of help and suggestions with these.
But the team at Cocoon went above and beyond to create my vision, with the most impeccable workmanship and attention to detail.
It felt more like being part of the team as we all worked together.
The always friendly and obliging team have now delivered for me the most beautifully appointed and cozy warm forever home, to start a new life chapter.

From the start, Karen and Tom were receptive to our custom design; they offered ideas, options, and advice as we worked through finalising the design. New Kitchen
Well thank you to Jon Ray, & Tom for upgrading my five year old kitchen. Purchased the property three years ago & battled with the terrible lay out. By accident I came across Cocoon Tiny Homes, when going for a car WOF in Katikati. I had a quote from a Tauranga kitchen company, wasn’t interested in coming to see what I required, just drew up a plan which was replacing the whole space $$$’s & they couldn’t & wouldn’t close in above the cabinets to the ceiling. Cocoon came out the same day with heaps of ideas, measured up and now I am the happiest person as Jon did everything that I wanted. (cabinets no longer dust collectors) workman ship 100% sure can’t thank the team enough & well within my budget. Would I change anything No! so Happy, they say things are meant to be . Well, finding Cocoon was the best thing for me. Hopefully you may see photo on there web page of the before & after, photo.

Custom Sanctuary - Consented Build
Our progression towards Tiny living and a build by Cocoon Tiny Homes began, for us, many years ago really. For 18 years we lived in a hotel-sized room with all amenities and we were perfectly happy with the space. Now, as we headed towards retirement and wanted to do everything we could to minimise living costs and have a home of our own, a tiny home became a very practical option. Not being so consumerist and demanding on the planet had great appeal too.
So, fast forward to two Tiny Home Shows where we decided what we were after at the first one and confirmed we were on the right path, making the right choices, at the second one. The choices for us revolved around size, layout and quality versus value-for-money. Cocoon was a contender right away and we narrowed things down to 3 other excellent prospects. All were classed as single level, but Cocoon won the day because of its pitched roof Sanctuary design. It looked great and had loft space - a huge consideration when you are downsizing.
Despite a change of ownership during our build, communication, advice and accommodating our particular likes and dislikes continued smoothly through to Tom and Karen, the new owners. If you are contemplating a Cocoon Tiny Homes build, you will find Tom and Karen very easy to deal with. They will kindly and capably help you with what will work and what might not, what changes might cost you something and what is covered by the base design. An example: we had IDEAS on where to put our largish (for a Tiny Home) TV, but, NAH, not gonna work. So Tom and the team came up with a very workable idea, sourced the necessary bits, discussed costs etc., fitted it all nicely and we paid only for a fancy bracket.
Suffice it to say, if we had to turn around and build another Tiny Home right now, we would go straight back to Karen and Tom and the team at Cocoon Tiny Homes.
